Shadowbox is used to contain contents within inside of it and it can’t be touched. A shadowbox is meant to keep the outside from coming in. And with spoken seasons, I have created space of natural cycles with my dancing leaf ladies.and I created a shadowbox because these dancing ladies represent the four seasons that we go throughout every year. The seasons are consistent maybe not at all times of the year, but we can always count on them to happen every single year. As humans we love to get our hands...

  Spoken Seasons Natural leaves,  natural pressed flowers, plaster, golden chain, museum wax, black foam board 21",  24",  3" Inspiration:                         My research started with the nature around me. I frequently take walks outside and this is when I decided that nature needed to be part of the creation of this piece. Nature is all around us and it is constantly changing and going through it's own processes. I found this interesting to note, so I found certain types of leaves and flowers that I found to be what the seasons resemble and used that to begin my work on this piece. My favorite pieces I chose were the bark and the orange seedlings, which I didn't end up using, but the way they felt in my hands reminded me of when in the movie  Cinderella, the little mice were eating corn for breakfast, and one of the mice, Gus, had many pieces he couldn't carry at once ...

Experimental Sculpture Collection

  Collection 1-3, wood glue, balsa wood, paper pulp, colored ink, wire, gel medium, pushpins, 7" x 4" x 5" Reflection:  My intentions sculptures was to visually create Unity within the peace and with the other sculptures. I wanted pieces that were using different mediums as well as different colors. It's interesting to see where I came from with the colors since none of them have correlation with each other, but the overall end product is very pleasing to the eye. For future in further investigation I would like to use completely different mediums for each of the pieces. I would like to use more color and perhaps bigger scale for the next time I create pieces similar to these.
